About Us
A Brief History

In addition to our national appearances, EnChor has garnered accolades at many regional events. EnChor was the core choir at the BC Choral Federation‘s Chorfest in May 2014. We performed at Vancouver’s Bard on the Beach in July 2014 and have appeared annually until 2020 with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra in its Traditional Christmas Concerts. We have also appeared with the VSO at their Tea and Trumpets concerts. Tours within British Columbia have taken us to Victoria and Vernon, and we have plans to tour again post-covid in the future. In July 2023 we sang at the invitation only Kathumixw International Choral Festival where we were awarded second place in the Adult Mixed Choir competition. At the gala closing concert the choir was presented with a special recognition certificate by the Festival Jury. In the words of jury chair, Fred Sjoberg, “The jury would like to recognize a very special choir here at Kathaumixw, one rich in singing and life experience. What a joy to have EnChor here at the festival, and for us all to experience what is possible as we continue to sing
lifelong.”
We respectfully acknowledge that our rehearsals and concerts take place on the unceded, traditional, and ancestral territory of the Coast Salish
