As you read in Cathy’s email a few days ago, the board and I decided to simplify things this Friday and save the more social Langley trip for another time when COVID is not still a worry. Please be sure to keep that September 2 email nearby, as it is an excellent overview of the weeks ahead. Don Blake has also posted it on the “Weekly Announcements” page on enchor.ca
As announced, this Friday, September 9, we will have our first rehearsal of 22/23 at our usual venue at the usual time: the East/West Hall at Pacific Spirit United Church from 10-12. We will be masked and set up as last spring. Thanks for your help keeping rehearsals safe for all.
Being at PSUC this week allows us to welcome some new faces who are interested in singing with EnChor. I’ll introduce them to you Friday as they join us for rehearsal, followed by their auditions.
The performance dates for the fall are both Sunday afternoons at PSUC:
- November 20 – Home and the Heartland
- December 18 – An EnChor Christmas
Before those, we will spend Friday morning, October 7 audio recording seven Christmas carols for another care home singalong video. So, expect the fall to have a lively mix of Christmas and non-Christmas music all the way through. I look forward to introducing some of the new pieces to you this Friday.
I’d like to take a moment to thank John Culter for his work as our librarian and the Section Leaders for their gentle shepherding of you all. Please keep them informed of your attendance plans in the coming months.

I hope you’ve all had a good summer, enjoying the sunny, warm weather. It seems hard to believe it’s September already! Rehearsals begin again this week and that means ….
…. choir membership fees are now due. The fees will remain at $350.00 for 2022-2023. You may pay in one installment, or divide the payments into two installments of $175.00, one payable now and the other payable by the end of January. Payment can be made by cheque and given to me at rehearsal or mailed to me at the address below. If you prefer to do an e-transfer send it to alderwols@shaw.ca and it will be deposited directly into the EnChor account.
The financial statement for the 2021-2022 year will be sent out before the annual general meeting.
