EnChor Weekly Announcements, April 24, 2025

FROM MORNA

Looking forward to The Earth Adorned this weekend.  It looks like good weather, which is a bonus, especially given our concert title. We are dedicating this concert to the memory of Tony Davies.

Here are important details.  Please read carefully.

Saturday, April 26 – 10am – 12:30pm mandatory Dress Rehearsal.  We are in the East/West Hall of PSUC (2195 West 45th Ave), so singers will be needed before 10 to set up chairs as we used to do.  I will be there with the seating board.  Please have all your music in order before the start of rehearsal (see below).  We will rehearse in concert order and discuss moves for singalongs, etc.

Sunday, April 27 – 3pm concert in sanctuary

1:15pm – sanctuary will be open (Morna and John S)

1:35pm – riser crew call time (you know who you are); also need 4 singers setting up folding chairs in transepts for choir

1:55pm absolute latest choir call time for a 2:00pm warmup on the risers. Please try to come early!

2:30 – clear house; Valuables lockup will be the chapel off the organ console side.

3:00 – concert starts

4:15pm ish – concert ends – there is no audience reception following this concert

Confirming there is NO REHEARSAL on Tuesday, April 29 – After a busy month and busy weekend, we’re taking Tuesday off.  We finish the year with four more Tuesdays: May 4, 12, 20, and 27.  At the latter, we welcome the Okanagan Youth Choir to share the time with us.  This is also music hand-in day.

VSO Day of Music

We are confirmed for a 30-minute performance at Christ Church Cathedral downtown at 3:00pm, with a sound check on stage at 2:30pm.  The Board is organizing a choir photo shoot before or after. Current year singers who have not been able to attend recently and who are planning to return next year should come for the photo shoot even though they are not singing the performance. Details of time, location, and apparel to come as soon as possible.  If you have any changes to your availability for that day previously done through a survey, please let your Section Leader know at your earliest convenience.
