EnChor Weekly Announcements

FROM MORNA
This Friday is a busy one, as we will have the final rehearsal on the music for Ailsa’s memorial service (Wednesday, October 5, see below) and the Christmas recording for the care home singalong (Friday, October 7 usual time but in the sanctuary). In addition to those nine pieces, we’ll work on Soli Deo Gratia and Tell My Ma.
Because Friday is Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day, I will invite anyone who wants to tell us which First Nations lands they live on, to do so following the warmup. I’ll go first. We are all on Coast Salish territory but, within that, there are many nations.
This week, I will ask for a clear show of hands of who is planning to sing at Ailsa’s celebration, so please consult your calendar in advance. Our call time is 12:10 and we should be finished no later than 2:30.
See you Friday!

Membership Fees:
Many thanks to all who have paid their membership fees, either by cheque or e-transfer. This is a reminder to those who haven’t yet paid that fees are now due.
EnChor tote bags:
We still have some of the lovely EnChor tote bags for sale. They are $25 each and available at rehearsals.
Mask orders:
Paul Guiton has sent in an order for masks from Canada Strong and expects they will arrive within the next couple of weeks. For those who placed an order with Paul, you may pay by cash, cheque or e-transfer when you receive your masks. There was no tax charged and no delivery fee, so the amount is $15.90 for a package of ten masks, or $7.95 for five masks. Paul will let us know when the masks arrive. Many thanks for looking after this order, Paul!!
Upcoming Elektra Women’s Choir Concert
A note from Morna: as some of you know, my other choir, Elektra, has major concerts this weekend at Pacific Spirit United Church: The Lost Words: A Spell Book. This is a very special project based on a very special book about nature. I encourage you to read all about it here, and watch an introductory video here.
