EnChor Announcements – December 6, 2021

From Morna:

Thank you for a really satisfying performance. I was very proud of us. We got that “trust” and “flow” thing happening from the first chords of Earth Song. That was the best it has ever been – flexible, clear, and expressive. I look forward to hearing from you on Friday at rehearsal about other things you felt were strong, or that your friends and family responded to.

What a warm audience!

Thank you for the very beautiful flowers! It was lovely to receive those and to have them brightening up my place.

Please see below for the repertoire list for Friday’s gig in White Rock. We have excellent balance for that concert. Thank you, Section Leaders, for finding out who was coming. Other details are below.

Friday will be our last meeting until the New Year. We start up again on Friday morning, January 7th. Bring all the music you have, as many more pieces will be added to the ones we just performed.

Our next concert will be Sunday afternoon, May 1, also at PSUC at 2:30pm.

Canuck Place

A big thank you to the stalwart band who turned out for the tree lighting ceremony at Canuck Place. Given the weather and Covid restrictions the audience was small. However, our contribution was much appreciated by Canuck Place and their visitors. It started to rain just before we finished our gig, making it difficult to pictures. However, Ted Cragg (one of the carollers) did a drive by (on his bike!) at dusk the next day and sent the attached photo.

Have a good week.

Many thanks to Morna for leading us in such a beautiful concert to mark our first time back  before a live audience in so long. The comments from the audience were all so positive and  heartwarming. We were also so fortunate to have Stephen Smith join us. His piano solo was  magical! Many people helped to make this concert such a success. Thanks to Don Harder for

the recording, Don Blake for the program and John Smit for the Zoom linkup. Thanks to Lorna  Blake for organizing the front of house so well. And of course, thanks to all of you who were  able to come early and stay late to help with the chairs.

Finally, a big thank you to our audience who not only made it all worthwhile but donated over  $600 to the Food Bank!

Cheers

FROM MUSICALLY KNOWLEDGABLE FRIENDS/FANS OF ENCHOR

Hi Don (and Lorna),

We really enjoyed the concert yesterday – thanks for the tickets. We were so pleasantly surprised that the (necessary) masks were not an issue for the beautiful  sound your group produced. I am sure that as singers, you found them inhibiting and are  looking forward to a great unmasking but as audience members we were delighted to enjoy the  sound.
